Limtex,Point is that I don't think that the stock has moved up recently because of mo mo investors. I agree with your assessment regarding SanDisk's perception by the investment community at large. I have been looking at the earnings section of IBD since the New Year turned over and noticed that valuations are really astronomical. It seems that people are investing on the basis of an sexy story (anything to do with fiber optics, for example), anticipated earnings for 2003 and beyond (after generous extrapolation of the earnings curve), reasonable inertia in the share price, and presumed flawless execution for the foreseeable future. Some of the valuations are unbelievable. To be honest, it is harder to think of a "sexier" story than the SanDisk story. Also, the company has an excellent EPS rating. It is making money. It has a fantastic balance sheet. It creates tangible consumer goods. The list goes on... I also believe that we are still relatively undiscovered. In fact, I read a piece this week on Gemstar's acquisition of two e-Book manufacturers. The article started out something like this...Two of the leading manufacturers of electronic books were acquired this week by Gemstar, a company which has risen from relative obscurity this autumn after purchasing TV Guide... Gemstar was mentioned to me almost two years ago now and it has been the centerpoint of many discussions on SI. For Pete's sake, the company has a market cap of 16 billion. When you speak of "mo mo investors" are you referring to momentum investors? If you are, I hope that the "mo mo's" discover the SanDisk story before long. For the present time I think we are doing well even without there presence. I hope that there is good news in the wings waiting to be released next week. All the Best, Aus
