Reuters gets Goldman executive for fund role
LONDON, Jan 23 (Reuters) - News and financial information company Reuters Group Plc confirmed on Sunday that it had hired an executive from Goldman Sachs to jointly run its technology investment arm, known as the Greenhouse Fund, amid media reports that the unit could be set for a partial flotation.

The move came amid growing market speculation over a strategy update due from Reuters next month, with a report in the Sunday Times saying Reuters was poised to announce a telecoms alliance with Dutch-based Equant (NYSE:ENT - news).

With Reuters shares having risen strongly in recent weeks amid hopes for the February presentation, a spokesman confirmed it had hired David Lockwood from his post as head of European equities at Goldman to be joint head of the Greenhouse Fund alongside incumbent John Taysom.(cont)
