From the Book IS-95 CDMA and cdma 2000 by Vijay Garg

Table 15-10 Major Technical Difference between cdma2000 and W-CDMA (page 398)

CDMA2000 W-CDMA
Core Network ANSI-41 GSM MAP
Chip Rate 3.6864 Mcps 4.096Mcps(DOCOMO) 3.84 Mcps (UMTS)
Synchronized BS Yes No/yes (optional)
Frame Length 20 ms 10 ms
Multicarrier Spreading Option YES NO
Voice coder EVRC New
Overhead Low (because of shared High (because of nonshared pilot
Pilot Code Channel) code channel)

Many pages of text explaining this, it seems, at first glance,
that cdma2000 Phase one is 1.25 MHz wide( also known as 1xRTT),
Phase 2 is 5 MHz wide(also known as 3xRTT).

Quick cut of the supporting text---

By migrating from IS-95 CDMA air interface to 1xRTT, operators
reap twofold increase in radio capacity and up to 144 kbps of
packet data. Phase two will support all channel sizes (6x,9x and 12x).
