i expected posts like this, and i believe the two epochs in technology revolutions have more in common than most microsoft idolators will believe, just like ibm idolators of the 80's could never believe that big blue could ever fall from grace.

history always ryhmes and repeats, thats why andy grove came up with the "inflection point".

there is no major power, political or business that can ever overcome the "inflection point", elsewise we would still all be part of the roman empire

Interesting. To me, that sounds VERY MUCH like Microsoft:

a) arrogant (thinks they know what's best jammed down customers' throats)
b) NIH attitude (would rather reinvent the wheel than go along with established standards)
c) cutthroat with competitors to the brink of illegality (or perhaps beyond)

JMHO, of course!

>>>>There is no comparison between IBM in the 80s and Microsoft now, especially in their management. IBM was known as a constipated elephant back then, couldn't get out of their own way, and was arrogant to the point of not caring what their customers wanted.<<<<

that is an exact comparison, in fact it couldn't be more exact, msft HATES innovation, despite the PR lies spewing from balmer and gates that comforts the investor masses while most msft insiders are leaving the party. They kill innovation at every step and try to steal innovation from others and put their name on it.

msft hates innovation, just like ibm hated innovation in the early 80's, ibm's cash cow was destroyed by the pc, just like msft's cash cow is being destroyed by the internet.

you couldn't ask for a more perfect comparison, constipated elephant.
