Guilt? why? You did your friend a favor having him buy at $400. It is now worth $620. $220 per share (50+%) profit in less than 2 months. The poor guy who bought at $157 is not going to be poor anymore for any longer.

When I discuss Q I tell them if they sell in less that 1 year after they buy, I don't want to hear about it. If they are not willing to hold on to it that long, then they are buying it for the wrong reason and I won't recommend it. If they will hold on for 1 year, I recommend it.

"I've quit suggesting people buy Q."

I got my mom in at $163 7/16 after reviewing her financial advisors suggestions for her portfolio (only 60 shares). QCOM has pretty much traded in the red for the entire time she has held it <g>. She has mostly kidded me about it when we talk. I know she is concerned, as she has always been conservative in her investments. I do feel bad that I was not able to time the buy better. However, she does not have any immediate need for this to be liquid. I told mom to expect share price to be volatile before she bought it, but it was QCOM's fundamentals that were important. They remain strong, so there is no reason to panic.

Having said that, I will talk stock to friends & family, but they have to make their own decisions. Too often, people can be soooo unforgiving when money is involved IMVHO.

Looking forward to more confirmation of those fundamentals on Tues ;-)
