It would definitely be a hostile takeover. NTAP has its sights on EMC's turf, but will get that turf not by taking away its installed base. It will beat EMC in the market for new customers.

Of course, a killer NAS from EMC could prevent that.

FWIW - we are seeing rinky-dink M and A - the real issue is if VOD gets Mannesman then there will a rush to create mega-worldwide telecosm players - if there is a 150 bil deal then there can be several 200 bil deals involving the gorillas - IMHO
