EGNG=Incoming B2B E-MarketPlace Shop Engine:

EGND: Partner with ORCL @ New Shop Engine,
New generation Shop Engine Model vs AMZN. EBAY, SPNW....
with Target Asia Pacific Market..

~~~~~~~~~~New on Jan 14,2000~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emerging Company Report: Shop Engine Enables Virtually No-Investment e-commerce:
James West, CEO of ElGrande.com spoke of his company's Shop Engine(TM) technology, which permits e-commerce shoppers to zero in on exactly what they are shopping for. The Shop Engine(TM) is a generic, co-brandable set of applications and aggregated product database that enables existing Web sites and ISPs to add a revenue-generating e-commerce component for little or no infrastructure investment. Version 2.0 of the Shop Engine(TM), engineered in partnership with Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL - news), will be released later this month and will contain 3 to 5 additional product categories upon release. The company also announced the eventual commencement of ElGrande.com Japan.
Elgrande is the first of a new e-commerce category - the first true "disintermediator". Disintermediation is the bypassing of the middle layers (distributors, brokers, warehousers and retailers) of the traditional retail supply chain and eliminating the retail markup.
-------More Like Yahoo Than Amazon---------
Elgrande has invented and established a group of technologies that is collectively known as the Shop EngineTM. The "Shop Engine" is a group of software programs that enables retail consumers on the World Wide Web to purchase products directly from manufacturers without the necessity for a retail storefront.
--------International in Scope----------
Elgrande's main operations center is located in Vancouver, Canada--with a satellite office in Japan.
--------Competitive Advantages----------
The key competitive advantages for Elgrande over its Internet counterparts (Amazon et al) are:
1. No Inventory
Elgrande does not carry any of its own merchandise, nor does it warehouse, ship, or in any other way handle merchandise. Elgrande is essentially a transaction service provider.
2. Competitive Environment Determines Pricing
Participating companies are encouraged to provide "wholesale" pricing to Elgrande's customers. The Elgrande System is designed to enable the consumer to select the lowest priced version of a product that might be offered by more than one Elgrande partner.
3. Deepest Possible Selection
Elgrande will have the deepest selection simply because it does not have to stock all of the items that it offers. This means that out-of-print, foreign language, and other niche market items will be carried in the Elgrande inventory database, regardless of how well they sell.
4. Creating the New Model for E-commerce
Information technology research firms, such as Gartner Group, Jupiter, and Forrester Research, predict that the face of e-commerce will give way to a new model based on disintermediation. They also predict the emergence of independent consumer information corporations (much like Elgrande) which will offer consumers unbiased and extensive information on products they are planning to purchase.
Elgrande expects to derive revenues from at least five independent and significant sources:
1. Transaction Fees:
A flat rate fee of US$1.50 per item sold to retail users of its Internet web site
2.Sponsorship Fees and Banner Advertising
3.Licensing Fees:
Elgrande will license components of the Shop Engine (or the Shop Engine in its entirety) to Internet Service Providers, existing web retailers, and others who may wish to establish and/or enhance an e-commerce mechanism on their site.
4.Demographic Data Sales
5.Supplier Incentives
Here are some highlights from the last chat session on 12/30/1999. check out www.mytrack.com for the complete session.
Here are some of the highlights. The answers are as stated by Barry Hetz the Grande Puba of TRAC.
Q What is the status with the ECN and BD?
A ecn and BD during 2nd qtr of 2000. (March)
Q: Why did you feel the need to initiate a stock split for TRAC when the stock is trading under $10?
A: the split generates a lot of "buzz" and excitement about the company which leads to more investors looking at us and in turn to more business in fact when we make these announcements the # of applications triple this is above and beyond the stated reasonn.
Q: Can you make a deal with like Yahoo or Aol?
A: we got 1/2 deal done - we're ready - now we just got to get them to agree.
Q: Any plans for adding ARCA or a similar type ECN that will attempt several ways to execute an order?
A: arch and Nexttrade are both coming on line
--------------------------------------------------------
In addition remember that the realease of the Palm trading platform will be out by months end. Plus any other tricks they may have up their sleeves.
I don't know how all this will turn out in the long run, but I have been very succesful trading it up and down.
Anyone who is still short might want to cover and take what profit they have. Trac will be heading up stream again soon.
(Voluntary Disclosure: Position- Long; ST Rating- Strong Buy)
heheh...me and the ms. went gadget crazy this xmas...DVD, small digital camera for snapshots...got my Visor....little bro got a Palm Vx.
working at Microsoft has some advantages. Wait till ya'll see what we've got up our sleeves :>) We Be Gadgets. Probably the coolest thing (and, yes, this IS public knowledge), is the eBook technology we're working on. Small handheld with a screen as clear as printed text..holds 500 books in memory..download new books from online retailers...VERY cool.
