Good a.m. dangergirl, I know it sounds old fashion, but what I did this year was create a bunch of file folders. I get an execution notice from my broker for every buy or trade. I match up the buy with a trade in order to keep track of it. There may be a better way and I would be interested also.

hard to believe a serious brokerage firm won't bother to program calculations for cap gains. all the data is there waiting to be run. instead they force EVERY ONE of their customers to go solo...let's start a consulting firm & help em out. seriously, i like amtd...the service has improved steadily over 2 yrs. (i give up hope for reasonably swift account balancing...do it "by hand" by 4:05) anyway, i like the stock as an investment since hold times are up & i have found them to be a reasonably (?) good indicator.
