Joe,

What's your take on the recent runup? Takeover?

At last check FSII was still losing money while others
like SVGI and SMTL has turn the corner. BTB has been
consistantly above 1 all of last year and yet FSII
still loses money. When is all this going to change?

I own SMTL and SVGI but haven't bought any FSII since I last sold out of it couple years ago when it was ~ $22-23.
As far I know, FSII still use inferior polished stainless on their Polaris line. They had ample time to change but didn't. Strange company!

Joe,

Good to hear from you! I'm happy to hear you think there might be more "legs" left on FSII. It is sure looking good right now. It's about time for those of us who have "kept the faith" over the last 3 to 4 years. We deserve it!!<gg>

I checked out the reference you listed. I didn't take the time yet to listen to the audio, but I did read the article. One of the stocks Soto likes is SFAM. I'm glad to hear that - right now its one of my favorites and I own some shares.

You're right about the stats. The semi-equips "turned around" in Sept and October 1998 and they have never looked back. The gain in prices and change upward in evaluation ratios has been astounding. This is much more enjoyable.:)

Joe, SB and Others,

As a group, the semi-equips made a "reversal" on 8 October
1998 - a little over 15 months ago. There have been
some"squiggles" along the way, but over the long term, and
as a group ignoring individual stocks, the group has never
looked back. The data shown below covering the period 9
October 1998 to yesterday's close is astounding.

The group gain over that period is 451 percent while the
SOX-X is up 300 percent. SB, you will get a kick out of
this - UTEK is the only loser in the group with a loss of 6
percent - the same 6 percent loss as you noted previously
during the last 2 weeks.

Who among you who are reading this post would have guessed
PHTN and LTXX would be the big winners over this period.
Both of them are up over 2000 percent! But you didn't have
to be a stock picker to make money. All you had to do was
invest your money in October 1998 in the "group index" and
walk away - no sweat about what to buy and sell, etc, - just
come back today and pick up your gains. As an example,
investing $200K in Oct 98 and coming back today you would
collect over $1.1M dollars. Not bad for 15 months and not
having to "lift a finger". And a further point is - the
good times are not done yet!

Don W.
