if the thread can collectively come up with a new name and opening message, I'll make the change On the flippant side, there's always the obvious thread names such as, "Here's My Opinion (Screw You)". Really, though, I am constantly amazed at the continual wealth of knowledge and opinion that is brought to this thread by just about all contributors. Despite the many posts saying something like, "That's it. I can't stand it. I'm leaving!", this place is like an high-flying stock that just crashed. Despite the fact that people get hurt, they seem drawn back to it, with sensitized sensibilities maybe, but knowing that there is a lot of underlying value in it. Nobody wants to miss out on the next spike and people are willing to put up with a lot in the meantime. So what is the value here? Very simply, it's the combined talents and opinions of all the people here. Value stocks one day, favorite cities the next, momos on another day, personality clashes swinging in and out, position plays providing the topic for another day...what an eclectic, wonderfully valuable mix. After awhile, you get a real sense of how various individuals approach their investing because their full personalities play out on this thread. Sometimes you find something you agree with, most of the time you don't. Question is, why would anyone want to limit their choices and their chances? Most don't. For the same reason that everyone bookmarks the various threads, this one single thread provides a great cross section and a meeting of myriad investment philosophies and experiences. Tempestuous? Yes. A waste? Hardly. I'm not sure what kind of name is appropriate either but I hope one is found that can simply be bookmarked, one that doesn't detract from the value of the thread or limit the subject matter. We have a place here in Austin's entertainment district called "Joe's Generic Bar". Doesn't tell you much about what's offered but it does kind of draw you in once in awhile to see who's on stage. Always different but, then, you kind of expect it to be. IMHO, Buck
