THis discussion about the look and feel of paper reminds me of my earliest years in IT when the biggest human factors problem we had with implementing on line, real time inventory management systems was that the sales guys and warehouse managers did not want to give up their holerith cards. When they had that card, they had control of that piece of inventory.

By the way, Merlin, that inventory/order processing system was at Coronet Mills. You know what the inventory was, don't you?

RE: GMST - e-books, newspapers and the cost of paper and electronic ink.

Xerox and 3M have been working on an "Electronic Ink" product. No date for market introduction but they're playing with prototypes. Evidently Xerox has been sitting on the patent for years. Revived it when when they came up with an inexpensive means of producing tiny spheres that are half black & half white.
