i'm not sure i follow your link between the oil price and dot com mania. the case for deflation of commodities is one i am familiar with but am not a believer. as far as the oil price maintaining at 28, no i don't think it will. but over 20 bucks and most of the independents are still a value at current levels.

even if the sheiks start pouring it on, it seems too late in the game now to see sub 20 oil for the remainder of 2000. at least not on a sustained basis. BWDIK

as far as the drillers, NE is mo-mo and needs to correct. FLC will either fly or drown. i maintain a position that i established at 6+ and have made nice money on calls for the last year. sure the whole osx will come down from here, but not to new lows. osx 78 and i'd be a heavy buyer.

still curious for your take on the chinese and their silver selling. seems to have taken the shine off of silver, no?
