Frank, PXD - No I'm not concerned.

The news was announced and the stock managed to go up over 5%. There was a 50K buy too. I-Watch only showed buying support. If this were a tech company or FGH I might be more concerned. If you're really concerned you can always take some profits just before earnings, but in the meantime the technical action is very positive. It finally broke and closed above it's long term down trend line since August. MACD is turning up nicely and it broke and retested it's 50 dma. I think 10 1/2 is a given next week. I think PXD could be 15+ by May. As such I have no plans on selling. In fact I've been an aggressive call buyer in the Feb 7.5 and March 7.5 expirations (I'm done accumulating).

If you see PXD declining next week and into earnings while it's peers go up only then should you be concerned. Let the tape be your guide.
