Slider, NAO up to negative point one, still negative is good. Latest forecasts indicate negative reading may not hold up past Tuesday. I'm going to wait and see, it is an oscillator, after all, and must do its thing. OTOH, from the latest PA office NOAA forecast discussion: WHATEVER ENSUES...ANOTHER COLD SHOT MOVES IN FOR EARLY IN THE WEEK ASSURING ANYTHING THAT DEVELOPS NEXT WEEK WILL HAVE SOME COLD AIR AROUND TO WORK WITH. SO NOW FOR MID-NEXT-WEEK. NEW ECMWF KEEPS UP THE IDEA OF A BIG LOW FORMING OFF MID ATL AS SHORTWAVE OVER THE TUNDRA REGIONS DEEPENS TWD OHIO VALLEY. WHILE PLACEMENT IS VERY SIMILAR TO OLD RUN..IT IS A FULL DAY FASTER DEVELOPING THE SFC LOW. ALOFT THE TIMING AND PLACEMENT LOOK VERY SIMILAR FROM RUN TO RUN. STILL TOO EARLY TO GET REAL EXCITED...BUT IT IS THE MOST POTENTIALLY INTERESTING EVENT OF THE SEASON TO WATCH TO DATE. Best Regards, Roebear
