Yes, X, we did indeed decide that there were different kinds of rape, depending on the circumstances in which it took place. There is the one-shot "put it out now, baby" date rape; the anger-rape of the habitual rapist; the soldier's "gotta get my booty" rape; the ethnic cleanser's genocidal rape, etc. At the same time, I think that if we added up all the rapes in the world, and then classified them according to the particular circumstances in which they occurred, we would find that only a minority of them were the result of provocative "signals" sent by the victim. Personally, I'm too old to be worried about sending such signals; nobody would pick them up anyway. :-) Joan
