Victor, Amazon's fate is in Amazon's hands. Bezos is pushing the envelope to expand his business because Wall Street has allowed him to do so. If the lending and equity markets radically shift against him, he can (temporarily) scale back his expansion place as needed, increase margins, and regain the Street's confidence before further pushing forward. Don't underestimate the guy!
