The point was that corporate LANS are getting dramatically faster, shifting performance bottlenecks onto the clients.

For remote access whether dial up or over the 'net, the network is still likely to be the bottleneck.

What about when you're out of the corporate intranet...fire walls? security? synchronization? Maybe using mail and powerpoint as an example, would you please expand?
