hdrjr: re: 1400 Jan 5 Calls bought in FGH on friday.

I've never really seen that large of a position bought (or sold) the day of option's expiration. While I view that as positive, it's not as positive as someone buying the same amount of calls with a longer expiration date imho (say May or August). It takes far more confidence in the under lying security imho to buy calls with longer duration.

It would appear to me they want to establish a position without driving the price up. Does anyone know how these shares are delivered? Would the seller of this many calls need to buy these shares on the open market? If so, that would seem to drive the price up. This buy doesn't really make much sense to me.

Either I'm still watching FGH for some signs of a technical bottom. I haven't seen any yet. Also, Slider has been uncanny of late calling FGH's action. I think I'd like to see Slider go long and have the technicals in place before I'd consider taking a long term position (VBG). I also see no need to go long before what could be earning's report with a few more "surprises".

Either way there are so many laggards here in the E&P sector with little downside and comparable upside to FGH, why take the risk?
