Hi, I see the exchange (I went back and looked). But I don't see how I changed history. You have every right to post what you think, lighthearted or not, but I don't see that Poet was trying to tell you HOW to post so much as making a riff on your acronym IMHO, which you had just defined, and defending her view of options. She put in gg, I think, (and I probably shouldn't speak for her) to lighten it up so you'd understand it wasn't an attack. By referring to your helpful list of acronyms, and asking, "could this have been what you meant" I think she was being gentle. It could seem different to you. There's a subtext here. It's been frustrating for both of us that we highlight your G&K thread (which is still, I think, probably the best general thread on SI) in our header and we can't get you to put our sister thread in your header...even though yo'd prefer options are discussed elsewhere....although I was pleased when you put it in a post last week. We're all trying to learn from each other here and have very different strategies for doing so (thus the arguments on our thread about relative risks of buying and selling puts for instance). I'm always flattered that you see me as so powerful with the written word (someone referred me to your post last week on this thread, where you make my credits sound even better than they are.) I think however, in this particular world, you have a lot of cache and and I really don't think I'm whupping you with my martial arts moves. You're doing just fine and having a good time and have made a lot of good friends and retired early. It seems disingenuous to me to keep stating you're one down in "arguments" with me. As for Voltaire's porch--you started it after you and I, in better days, were joking by PM that Voltaire should have his own thread. I think it's been successful (although where is he of late?) and though I don't read it every single day, I don't see Poet as hosting it. She's never voiced such an intention to me either. I think, au contraire (and again, I speak for her and could be wrong) she began posting over there more frequently when Qualcomm thread became such a flame-fest some of us just went elsewhere for a week or two. Frank, and this is not directed at you in particular but all of us, it amazes me what Americans will do when they get $ and have relatively few problems. It's as if they go create problems for themselves. They get into fights over nothing. Here are a bunch of people who achieved their dreams and should all be partying, you'd think enmity would melt away, and instead it gets worse. "Beware of what you want for you might get it." Then one has to face spiritual emptiness, which is practically a given in this culture, and be brave enough to start working on opening the heart. SI has been an incredible and valuable place for me, and probably changed my financial future forever, but even so I've been really disappointed to see the level of hostility between all these fortunate people.
