"History has a way of repeating itself over and over."

And,

"P.S. Simply take a look at Microsoft's chart and pick a few major inflection points. Note the date. Read the posts on SI for that date. Discover how wrongly people can think. Decide for yourself."

If we are talking of fundamental inflection points:

True, it does sometimes have a way of repeating itself. It also is true that history has a way of repeating itself, until something changes (which inevitably occurs). Predicting this inflection point is one of the greatest challenges. I remember Andy Grove speaking of inflection points, well before the inroads that AMD had made. Although quite conscious of this, an inflection point was reached (in price) and consequently INTC has been forced to react.

If we are talking of technical inflection points:

Well being a fundamentalist that I am, I could go on forever beating the broken drum of the technical vs. fundamental argument. I appreciate your views however.

When trying to determine the direction of the train I prefer to keep one ear on the tracks, one ear on the engineer, one eye on the engineer (just in case) and one eye on the charts (just in case). <grin>
