***OFF TOPIC***

TA is different for NASDAQ stocks compared to Canadian stocks. The reason is probably because NASDAQ and NYSE stocks are more liquid than Canadian stocks

There are several other reasons.... Don't discount the ability of MM's and Specialist to manipulate a chart to look like it is breaking out (or about to) just to hammer it back down again when the technical buyers rush in...WHIPSAW <gg> Of course this is also done on Canadian exchanges but the manipulation is often done different because of the dramatic differences in the way the two exchanges are set-up.

Just look at a 10 day intra-day chart of DELL or MSFT... these MM's are the best and know how to really work the crowds. Also one of the reasons I never trade those stocks.

I would agree with Allan's statement that a good book is probably the best place to start... In my opinion the basic books by Murphy, Schwager, and Pring are great places to start. However no book, webpage, or course will teach you what 1000's of hours of tracking charts will teach you... it is more of an artform than a true science.

Best Regards
