Actually, the textbook definition of momentum in the market is very different ...

>>>
Definition

Momentum measures the rate at which stock prices are rising or falling over a specified period. Just as with physical objects in motion, a stock or market index will start to lose upward momentum before it actually reaches its ultimate peak; on a downward trend, the loss of momentum will slow before the trend actually bottoms out. Thus, momentum may be used as a lead indicator, signaling latent strength or weakness, well before a trend reversal is detected by moving averages, price patterns or trendlines.

I have found momentum to be a very helpful indicator for when to enter and exit my holdings. RIght now momentum looks pretty good for UREC. But it still smells of P&D to me.
