(OT) dmacoach - It's a risk/reward tradeoff thing. Yes you lose some potential return buying in-the-money calls (assuming the issue skyrockets), but you increase your odds tremendously that you'll at least get a portion of your original capital back. The most common mistake most people make buying options is only buying out-of-the-money options. If you want to trade options I'd recommend reading a little first on the most common mistakes. Amazon has a ton of titles.
