Hi Edwarda, My understanding is the Firbolg were forced into partial serfdom by the Tuatha De Dannan (people of the goddess Dana). The Firbolg were possessed of overwhelming numbers, but the De Dannan were highly cultured and so skilled in the arts and crafts that the Firbolg thought they were necromancers. The Milesians came in 1060 B.C., (not B.C.E.) ;-) Where does the 60 come from? I always thought the date was thought to be roughly 1000 B.C. What sleuth ascertained that very specific decade, and how did he or she arrive at that?
