If the word was out on the street, and it was a blowout, we would have had a big run this week.<<

We only had $16 last week -- hardly a Q blowout.

I'll bet on a great report too and vie to be a hero.

No guess.

Based on new contracts signed (advanced royalties paid), clarification of Kyocera deal (mucho dinero), handset sales and surveys about the popularity of Q phones in particular, stellar CDMA phone sales across the board...and the fact that the street STILL doesn't have their collective acts together with a 2000 EPS estimate of:

2000 1.02
2001 1.33

Does anyone here really believe Q with only earn around .25 each quarter this year going forward? Considering the triple digit growth rates we've been seeing, I doubt it.

And concerning the Streets wisdom about predicting earnings through pre earnings price run ups. Remember what happened in April? The major correction before earnings presented the buying opportunity of a lifetime.

How do I define blow out earnings? Estimate around .24 this quarter. I say .28 minimum (pro forma of course)...
plus good things to be said during the conference call...

Now the question is...will the stock react the way we expect? Who the hell knows.

Casey? Casey? (my dog) Casey?

Casey doesn't know.

"Nobody knows, man, nobody knows!"

To be clear, Lindy, I wasn't predicting it. I was just questioning why someone would expect blowout earnings but not expect a split announcement at these price levels.

As for the word on the street, I hope and think the contributors here are more in touch with Q's prospects than the street.

And... the manual tells us that a company will surprise analysts for several quarters after the tornado has begun. You think they've yet caught up to the reality of Q as a gorilla and the resulting implications (other than MSDW)?

And ... did you see Dr. J's enthusiasm and his "very exciting" comments? <g>

No predictions but quite optimistic. Rory
