IDC is closer to Lucent too which is assuming the statesman's role by providing GSM to CDMA technology bridges. Interesting that none of those Qualcommers picked up on the tidbit given by Phil Redman of the Yankee Group that Samsung and NTT DoCoMo are working on something. Methinks NTT DoCoMo is trying to play peacemaker between the TDMA and CDMA camps. And how can you expect these guys to accept the possibility that the IBM-led effort to use silicon germaninum increases the options for ASIC houses regarding the performance budgets of chip design.

It's of no consequence if the relationship between IDC and NOK isn't
as important as IDC promotors say it is.

Since NOK isn't telling what the nature of the relationship is, we
have only IDC's word and NOK's actions to guide us.
