I would also wager that Cisco's phenomenal growth over these last 7-9 years is directly related to attacking/embracing new tornados and becoming the dominate player in those 16+ markets as well. In short.. tornados are what is fueling Cisco's rapid rise. We have yet to see Cisco (or QCOM) NOT in a tornado. Thus their huge revenue increases (i.e. the 100-300% growth I alluded to in my first post). I don't follow MS or the rest of the gorillas on your list so I cannot comment on if they are currently in a tornado(s) or not and what their quarter to quarter revenue growth is.

Again my point had nothing to do if a gorilla past the tornado stage (and NOT presently in other tornados) is a good investment or not (it surely is). It had to do with the greatest returns (i.e. revenue growth - stock prices can be fickle) come during the tornado period. Again.. my opinion only and would embrace empirical evidence showing otherwise. I was simply 'throwing out there' my feelings and observations and how my investment style has been changing due to these observations.

FYI.. Interesting to note that many on this board also instinctively do the same thing. Example.. selling QCOM (whose present tornado is possibly slowing?) and invest in other companies that are about ready to step (possibly) into a tornado (e.g. CREE) or are in one now (e.g. JDSU, NTAP).

I am doing the same thing with my Siebel. I own tons of the stuff and will take some of it some time over the next several weeks to further propagate my tornados (i.e. JDSU, NTAP, VRTS) and pre tornados (CREE). Some will also go to grow my QCOM (when all of you folks kindly let go of a few shares :-) and to begin to explore the b2b business more. When will I dive back into Siebel with both feet (I will still hold a 'goodly' chunk of SEBL - just skimming off the top)? When Siebel shows that they truly will be a major player in b2b (i.e. hunting for #1 candidates now).
