To the Editor
Qualcomm rose 35% upon the prediction of an investment guru that its high
would be $1,000. This shows the complete lack of logic that prevails in the
investment community . In every trade, there has to be a buyer and a seller.
The seller may have various motives for selling, but the purchaser buys with
the expectation that the stock would rise. Only a masochist or a complete
idiot would buy, knowing this is the top. A "price goal," as most financial
advisers put it, therefore has to be a complete illusion, and any sale at the top
pure luck.
