I commented to someone today that I thought that perhaps those people like your friends are the ones that were buying limited partnerships in wireless in the early 1990's or oil wells in the 1980s.

I don't think there was ever a shortage of people looking to get rich one way or another.

I then said perhaps those buying the hot stocks today are refugees from Multi level marketing schemes?

Sure enough, the biggest bear in the group commented that he was asked to be in a MLM scheme when he was last at Schwab!

My congrats to Bob as well!

Should be a very entertaining weekend for Moneytalk: while all who followed Bob's advice should be very pleased right now, there is a burning question about the fate of our 40% remaining equity position. It will be interesting to hear Bob's opinion on whether the market should return to the vicinity of its recent highs as part of a continuing topping process. I believe that Bob must have felt, at the time he issued his sell recommendation for 60%, that there was a good chance (but not a 'certainty') of another selling opportunity developing in the near future.
