RE: "Anybody buying more here?" Yes, I plan on adding to my position tomorrow (Monday). I'll also have some cash on the side available if the earnings report presents another buying opportunity.

RE: "Can anybody provide me a picture as to how IM is going to increase the appeal to investors?" Good question. Hmmmm. The evolving role of distribution is one issue that brings uncertainty to the minds of investors. The industry transition coupled with the internet revolution means new relationships and opportunities, but the story must clearly be explained along the way. I believe IM management needs to keep banging away with news and commentary that explain what's happening in order to build confidence in the company's future.

They've been doing a good job since they last reported earnings, with announcements that include: the CyberSource/VentureTech Network alliance, the Network Associates/Ingram Micro Special Agent Program, Inter@ctive Week Top Ten Online Business Company & No. 1 Online Distributor rankings, Cisco Systems' Networking Products Marketplace for Resellers (NPMR), Ingram Micro's Global Partner Services Group & Microsoft's Home and Retail Division's channel program, Ingram Micro's Electronic Software Distribution program, Multiple Zones' Outsourcing Agreement, Microsoft Windows 2000 reseller support programs, and the Business-to-Business Auction System.

I think the following is worth repeating:

"Following a Web site redesign in September of this year, weekly traffic on Ingram Micro's site has recently increased approximately 70 percent to just under 15 million hits per week, making ingrammicro.com one of the world's most active business-to-business Web sites. Traffic on the site as well as the use of other Web-based commerce tools is expected to continue to increase as more customers turn to online ordering for technology purchasing." (taken from Ingram Micro-Inter@ctive Week press release, biz.yahoo.com;

It needs to be driven home that IM is a major Internet player with a solid track record of implementing cutting edge technology in partnership with an endless list of the best companies in the world to provide products and services in a high growth industry. In addition, their purchasing power, systems sophistication and global presence provide the foundation needed to optimize success in distribution. Oh, I almost forgot, they actually make money too!
