I was told at Schwab that selling covered calls does not increase your buying power. I lightened a bit recently on a very heavy schedule of naked puts I sold because of the huge amount of margin I had chewed up. I was trying to verify whether this was true or not, it was confusing to me when I tried to understand the wild fluctuations in my daily buying power.
