I go through the same crap with TD Waterhouse. About ten minutes to execute a trade with webbroker which has cost me $$$. Also learned to double check that trades have been executed/cancelled later on.
I heard that they will be starting up something like e-trade up here this spring-summer with the quick trades. I'll drop kick Waterhouse the day it opens.

The National Post reports in its Saturday, Jan. 22, edition that lawyers representing Bre-X Minerals shareholders say they have new evidence that suggests Barrick Gold new of the fraud three months before the scandal broke. The National Post's Sandra Rubin writes that Paul Yetter, the Houston attorney leading the litigation, says he is keen to analyze a two-month series of memos by Jan Merks, a Canadian mineral sampling specialist, that contain warnings to his then client, Barrick Gold, that samples from the Indonesian mine were suspicious. The Post says it has seen the documents and claims they show that fraud was mentioned in December, 1996, two months before the scam was publicly exposed. Mr. Yetter says the new evidence is "incredibly important." Mr. Merks has remained silent under a three-year confidentiality agreement he signed when he was hired by Barrick on Dec. 16, 1996. Mr. Merks says he raised his concerns with Barrick executive vice-president Alan Hill the day after he was given results of tests from the Indonesian mine. Barrick rejects the suggestion that Mr. Merks warned of fraud with Bre-X.
