Well, I would agree that that was an accurate description of the 'problem' except that you used the buzz word 'appropriate', which is, in this case, inappropriate. Of course they want a discount. And I want my next car for 50% less. Too darn bad for me. Contractually the Koreans are out of luck. (They exported billions of dollars of CDMAOne hardware last year, but very little GSM. They are crying themselves all the way to the bank.) Of course they are negotiating to get the royalties lower, and of course they will tend to jump to other technologies if they think they can get a better deal.

As for your comments on the MOT patent suit, so what? Do you really think they have a chance of invalidating any of Qualcomm's critical patents? I think not.

PS I am not gainsaying MCOM here in any way. Only commenting that it's important to understand the competition, and you are just a wee bit biased.
