Ronald Baker, who is President and CEO of GetMore TelCom, LLC, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a veteran of the telecommunications and wireless internet industries, will join the BGOC Board of Directors on February 1, 2000. Mr. Baker, one of the first executives hired by McCaw Cellular during the inception of the commercialized cellular telephone industry during the mid- 1980s, has twenty years' active experience in all phases of the communications business. BGOC recently acquired forty percent (40%) of the retail operations owned by GetMore Communications, which includes ten (10) cell phone and pager stores operating currently in Oklahoma and Texas as an authorized Voice Stream dealer. GetMore TelCom, LLC also owns GetMore Communications, TelCom One Communications and GetMore Wireless & Internet. Prior to being a co-founder of GetMore in 1998, Mr. Baker served as an executive with Western Wireless Corporation, working for the Corporate Office in Issaquah, Washington as National Sales Manager for the Wireless Data Division and as General Manager in Oklahoma City. He was with McCaw Cellular/AT&T Wireless Services from 1984 until 1996. Mr. Baker has served on three (3) national committees which have guided members of Congress in formulating regulations for the telecommunications industry and the Internet. He has served as an Advisor to the Federal Law Enforcement Wireless Users Group (FLEWUG), to the Public Safety Wireless Advisory Council (PLSWAC), and the Intelligent Transportation System. In 1998-99, Mr. Baker developed and implemented the Wireless Village Communications System in Norman, Oklahoma, an unprecedented hi-tech coalition between the University of Oklahoma, the City of Norman, Cleveland County, and public safety officials from the State of Oklahoma, which is being used as a model for other such Wireless Village communities throughout the U.S. Mr. Baker is currently spearheading the Joint Venture between BGOC and GetMore TelCom, LLC for the construction and implementation of High-Speed Wireless Internet operations in several cities throughout Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Iowa and Colorado for business customers.
