CNBC, Joe Kernan and Squawk Box guest host Susan Byrne(sp) gave CPQ a big push this morning at 8am. Joe talked about the pending breakout and the futures being up which could give CPQ the boost it needs. Susan said that CPQ owns a large chunk of CMGI which certainly enhances CPQ's value and which may make CPQ a great internet play. They laughed and talked about "CPQ.com" as a new name for the company. Susan said that she likes to talk positively about a stock after she is "already in." EL

08:13 ET Compaq Computer (CPQ) 31 1/4: DLJ upgrades from "market perform" to "buy"

Extremely unusual timing for this upgrade....DLJ obviously values their "call sellers" more than there "call buyers".

If they had given this upgrade last Wednesday or Thursday those that bought the Jan 32.50 and Jan 35 might have made money.
