AMD ANNOUNCES FLASH MEMORY AGREEMENT WITH SAMSUNG
--Samsung Provided With Flash Memory Product Supply--

SUNNYVALE, CA--JANUARY 24, 2000--AMD, a leading flash memory devices manufacturer, announced today an agreement with Samsung
Electronic Co., Ltd.- Wireless Terminal Division (Samsung WTD) to supply the company with a significant portion of its flash memory product
requirements for the next three years. Under the agreement, beginning January 1, 2000, AMD will provide Samsung WTD with approximately $400 million
dollars worth of flash memory devices to support its increasing customer demand.

"We are pleased to enter into this agreement with Samsung WTD which affords the increased supply Samsung WTD believes is necessary for its critical
flash memory product needs," said Walid Maghribi, group vice president of AMD's Memory Group. "By aligning our strength in flash memory products with
Samsung WTD's Code Division Multiple Access cellular phone handset leadership, AMD can participate in a cellular phone standard which we believe is
being adopted worldwide."

<Gateway has the Athlon SB pages up.

gateway.com >

I noticed that Gateway is pushing these under the Gateway@Work site. This is more aggressive than I thought. Given the boom in the Small business industry this is really nice!

Compaq does not seem to be promoting their Athlon SB systems as hard as Gateway.
