Gee don't you see a huge possible convergence between e-books, palm pilots and CDMA third generation technology (i.e. real time internet access etc..)? Who would 'win' that war? Let's see... owners of CDMA (if that is the standard still in use) and whatever 'unique' software e-books needed to operate (any?). Maybe it will just be the wireless standard that will be the winner. Everything else is just processing and storage - i.e. existing technologies). Massive storage, memory and small/flat/ indestructible screens would also be necessary for the UD's (universal devices for no better of a word). They would also need close to broadband rates on their wireless feed. OK.. if these assumptions are true... who 'wins' (i.e. which co. is best positioned?). I keep thinking that whoever controls the software necessary to 'send' the stuff to your PUD - that sounds better.. how about "Pocket Universal Device! :-) and then there would be 'BUD' for the really "big universal device" - i.e. the big comfy chair and hot java version that I can mark all up version! (I had better trademark these now no? Lol!)

Gee.. we are talking fairly long term here though.. gee .. at least a couple of years <g> to wide spread/cheap commercial use.

Isn't interesting that the tornadoes are coming quicker AND the industries are converging at an astronomical rate!
