Anyone holding a corporate bond fund has seen their NAVs shrink since mid 1998. Unfortunately, most people are too dumb to see anything unless its really obvious, like a crash. Its like putting a frog in a pan with cold water and turning on the heat. The frog will just wait and get scalded to death because the change is too gradual for its tiny brain. The average investor has a brain like a frog. It squirms around when the market goes up and down, but its doesn't understand anything beyond that.
