How did that call change that? Jeff Fisher, the coach of Tennessee was already in the Superbowl. That doesn't even make sense.

John, actually heard someone on a radio talk show say the the NFL didn't want a Super Bowl with 2 black coaches, and two
black quarterbacks, thus the fix.

I don't know about taking this further, but the second black coach, assuming the first would have been Tony Dungey, would have to have been an assistant from either Tennessee or Tampa Bay, right? (Tennessee's head coach is not black).

RE:"Jim and Elmer, OT Bucs/Rams call

I actually heard someone on a radio talk show say the the NFL didn't want a Super Bowl with 2 black coaches, and two black quarterbacks, thus the fix. I don't even remotely think this is the case, but it shows that people are incredulous about that call."

I figured someone would say that. I'm sorry they did. As of last week there was no possibility of 2 black coaches anyway. Actually, I get tired of the media playing the race thing for ratings. When asked about it, Dungy won't go there, at least he has some class.
Shaun King is a local, from my home town, I expect he is very popular in the TB area.

John, Tony, Jim, et al OT Comments on Football

Football is not a terrific sport. It has no elegance. It is not much different than arena football or WWF wrestling. It is a made for TV spectacle.

1. To make things exciting for most of the beer guzzling fans, they call the last half hour of football a 2 minute drill.

2. Most football players are not athletes. They have no skills. You get a bunch of guys who are very strong, or can run very fast, or can leap higher than others, or can kick a football - you can teach them how to play football in about 20 minutes.

3. If Tennesse wins the Super Bowl that proves anyone can win if given a chance. If they let the Frankfurt Dragons (or whatever they are called) into the NFL next year, they could win the Super Bowl.

4. Remember, it only took the old AFL two seasons before they won the Superbowl.

5. Georgia proves that you don't have to know a lot about those phoney XXX's and OOO's to put together a team that can win the Super Bowl. But, stop picking on Georgia. Do you really think that kid that owns the Redskins know much more about football than Georgia?

6. The only reason I follow football is because I enjoy making a small wager occassionally. If it wasn't for the betting and the point spread, half of the audience for football would be gone.

7. The only reason I watch the Super Bowl is because I like the commercials.

8. Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells, Al Davis, Bob Kraft (Pats Owner), and a lot of other Football heros are really not terrific people. If it were not for football, these guys would be misfits in society.

Okay guys - don't get angry - these are just some of my personal thoughts on the subject. If you disagree that is okay with me. Please, please don't get upset.

I love sports. I love baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, - almost any sport that require athleticism and skill development to succeed.
