I agree with you, how would you feel if Georgia owned the BUCS?<g>

I kind of threw in the towel on the meaning of the game in the 3rd qtr, IMO neither team will beat Tenn.

History says the Bucs had one other chance to go to the Superbowl, let's see...what happened, oh yeah, I remember now.

John, I guess we won't let this thing die, Tampa probably would have lost anyway.

I don't know. The Rams were backpedaling pretty good on defense on that last drive. Emmanuel, Dunn and Alstott were making good gains. 3rd and 9 would not have been unmakeable at all.

Even a long (long) time football watcher (me) had to think again about the rule if a receiver catches a ball, and then doesn't get his hands under it before the ball makes contact with the ground. Well, it was a good catch, because he had control of the ball from hands at about his waist level, all the way down until the point of the ball hit the ground. Tampa was robbed, period. Lucky no cars were overturned back there, or do they only do that when you win?

John,
Of course you are correct. Don't know if the Bucs could have scored but that's besides the point. The ref made it much more difficult with the bogus call. OTOH, TB is known for 4th quarter comebacks. With 3rd and 10 instead of 3rd and 23 they would have had a lot more options, even the run...with Alstott against a tired RAM line.

So maybe the RAMs would have won anyway but at least there wouldn't be this bad taste in everyones mouth.
