EDIG another good day and IMO far more to come even if it does get a bit volital along the way.

It's tough, even at this point to talk about the future of EDIG without coming across as hypy but I WILL attempt to help you connect all the dots when and where I can and this particular post from Larry Jenkins on RB does a very good job of connecting some more INTC/EDIG dots. For those of you who are not already aware of it, EDIG does have a relationship with INTC.

<<Intel Forms $200 Million Fund to Invest in Networking and
Communications Companies excerpted from the announcement it reads.
"For IX Architecture-related investments, the fund will target
companies
developing basic communications components,real-time operating
systems,"
"In addition to IX Architecture-related investments, the fund is
expected to
invest in companies supporting other Intel voice and data
communications
programs and initiatives, including ones being developed within
Intel's
Communications Products Group, to be detailed at a later date."

If you think about the process ahead for EDIG and Intel for it to be
successful
EDIG has to be prepared accommodate an onslaught of engineering and
design requirements. The purpose of this fund is to prepare "companies
developing solutions" for Intel's future efforts.

Now we're at the point where Fred can't comment on questions of
acquisitions. Remember the question at the shareholders meeting.
"What are
you worried about most when you put your head down on the pillow at
night?"

A: This shareholder's meeting...[Laughter]....That's a good question.
One
more thing before I answer that, as far as competition goes,
sometimes your
competitors end up being your customers, and that's all I will say in
regards to
that. What worries me at night?
Ahh...finding enough engineers to keep up with it all?

Here we are 5 months after the Intel announcement and 3 months after
the
shareholders meeting. The dots seem much closer together. If we're on
the
threshold of contract announcements and if those OEM's that we've
contracted with expect the timely service we've promised them....Then
announcements with equity investments and acquisitions can't be far
away.>>

Sold my ELON at prices ranging from 40 3/16 down to 39 1/2. Methinks there's probably some more downside, at least NT, as you pointed out Dale. Also, Yahoo board ELON longs are sounding a bit desperate in trying to buck each other up and are insulting even the most reasoned voices of caution--a warning sign to me. Kinda like noisy shorts in reverse. ELON will have its day(s) again, just not manana, IMO.

All in all the day turned out pretty well. This was the first time I've used DIR's extended hours trading. I like it. It would be nice to see all the trades (not just mine), but I'm not complaining.

Considering the afternoon action today, I'm quite happy with not only dodging a bullet but actually coming away with a gain.

And that was w/o EDIG. There was a good entry point today when it dipped on profit-taking, but it flew again and, alas I had to do some day job work--ok,ok, I chickened out. Gotta listen more closely to you guys.

All I can say guys is, "Dang!" a term I haven't heard in the longest time. I got it from an unlikely source.

I wrote a story (one of my sidelines) this weekend about a 7-year old kid who caught a 23-pound rainbow trout, one of the biggest ever caught in California. I asked what he said when he got his first good look at it. He paused for a bit, trying to remember, and finally repeated the one word exclamation--"Dang!" Not only quite an understatement, but more than a bit incongruous coming from a pre-teen of the new millenium.

HLTH also offered a place to jump on this am, but I watched it too. There ought to be a bunch of springback ops. off the sharp drops tomorrow am unless everybody jumps onto the "bargains" preopen like they've been doing since the beginning of the year. I'm probably gonna keep my powder dry until things settle after the first 1/2 hour.

Quite a few stocks actually held up well in the sell-off, EDIG, LQID and HLTH being three, and they could easily continue to run. I still think HLTH is going to be another PPRO at least in NT price action. DITC. gave up most of today's gains, but it will run again when the overall market stabilizes, IMO.

Norman, what are your thoughts re. the RSAS selloff? Is it in response to competition claims of leap-frogging the technology, or just the normal correction after a big sustained gain? Opinion please?

Jim

I am down less than 1%, thanks to JSB's gift with BGC up almost 20% a day after I bought it. A couple of small cap stocks are bucking the trend. CRVUE up 35% (Yahoo shows 62% but quote was at 11am) after changing the name from MNAC. NETE hits another new high on a market down day while ADAP marks its 10th consecutive new high, amazing!

Started a position in NANX and NTRX at the open today. NANX is in Nanotech, something Clinton talked up on Saturday. NTRX caught my attention as evolving to be the leader in VoIP (voice over data thru IP) routers. Both are also up from my entry point today.

Dale, if you're still inclined, I would appreciate your take on INRS. I picked some up at 36 1/2 last week and suspect it will break out 41 & change on earnings.

Also, I like AIS. Like LPG WCAP and HHGP, only most of the good news is still in this one. They have 2 upcoming IPOs and a great big pipeline.
