When I moved up near Cincinnati about 6 years ago, there was a story in the paper about a street person who had retired! Seems he took a part of his pan handling down to a local broker and put it into mutual funds each week. He finally had enough to buy his first house and retire! Some people who start with a very small amount often end up better off than those with the big salaries!
