Captain: delaying the analysts meeting until Fri ....looks more like a bad news Fri night that we know they have done in the past

Let's see.

If the earnings were terrible, would it make sense to give the markets a couple of days to wreak havoc before the meeting with the analysts and all the good news about the future which Capellas has already been stressing?

If the earnings are very good, would it make sense........(see above )

If the earnings are ho-hum, would it make sense ...
(see above, but leave out "wreak havoc" and replace with "get bored").

I think the two day hiatus is odd, but none of the above scenarios seems convincing.

Maybe Capellas is a white witch and simply wants to claim back Friday's for COMPAQ - and make them "good news days" like they were before The Fall.

I for one will doubt no matter ""
I have owned CPQ since the company went public and on two occasion I added shares to my position in CPQ, 1992 and then
1998! Over long I have done well, but who cares about the
yesterdays beer! RIght? Now CPQ has had two major crisis over the past ten years, a bit too much, wouldn't you say?IBM had theirs too, but they got their house in order and went on to new highs. Off course CPQ will have respect
crisis. I think you say in English once bitten twice shy! Well, no respectable analysts will believe CPQ. This is why
Pfiffer's favorite remark was " we don't get no respect!"

Now I am not as smart as most guys on this thread with great
analytic minds and understanding of technicalities, but based on the experience, I believe CPQ will rebound once again. Once it does, I will be selling my shares and will take my money to companies with more respect
for their shareholders!

There are greener pastures!

Regards,

Yaacov!
