Craig, why the sorry face?

Is Samsung's flash removable? Do they have some kind of standard?

I certainly would rather SNDK got the contract, but what we're seeing is flash moving to cellular. That's good.

Craig,

This is a good read...

techweb.com

But I don't get the latest press release...

Samsung is a budding manufacturer of NAND-based flash products, used in storage-related applications like digital still cameras and MP3 audio players, but to date has not developed NOR-flash technology, which is able to store both code and data and is widely used by cell-phone manufacturers.

Isn't Samsung a SanDisk licensee? Why did they wait so long to produce a NOR product? The co-licensing agreements appear to cover their NAND technology. Could this mean additional licensing revenues to SNDK???

"As production of more high-performance Athlon chips shifts to Germany during the second half of the year, Sanders said the company may introduce other products into Fab 25, including its popular flash memories, which are currently made in Japan in a joint venture with Fujitsu Ltd. "
