Off topic -- computer names ...

Nobody was holding out for Amdahl, Burroughs or IBM.

A few names I haven't heard in quite a long time. Other than IBM, I've forgotten they even existed until I read your post.

Thank-you for the deja-vu, PW.

P.S. Sperry, Perkin-Elmer (or was it Elmer-Perkin?), Honeywell, Prime, Cyber, ... Ever wonder what the list would look like in a decade?

P.P.S. On the Computer Learning thread, a guy posted a picture of a PC in a cardboard case. Someone else mentioned a wooden case -- I guess they don't remember the nice wooden box North Star computers came in. In the pre IBM-PC world, North Star was a leader, along with Compu-Pro, Osborne, and a few other names I can't recall.
