James Cramer's 1999 performance was absolutely stellar.

In the interest of fairness, he did have a dismal 1998 because of over-reliance on small-cap stocks, but turned it around quite handsomely last year.

In addition, he does not just sell his advice to retail investors. TheStreet.com has actually become quite popular with active hedge fund managers and institutions that prefer it to the "dry" service provided by Bloomberg. I know, for example, of several Goldman Sachs employees in Europe who read TheStreet.com as soon as they hit their desks every day, long before turning to the WSJ, or Bloomberg.

I agree one shouldn't trust anyone blindly, but believe Cramer is much more transparent than a lot of the talking heads that show up on CNBC on CNNfn with their own hidden agenda.
