OTOTOT: The incomplete pass

I have been watching the NFL for 35 years. It is my favorite spectator sport. I watch just about every game that is televised in our area (fliping back and forth to catch virtually every play of the games that are on at the same time). Bottom line...I am a genuine football nut.

With respect to the incomplete pass....I really don't understand the controversy. The ball clearly touched the ground in the process of being caught. By definition it is incomplete. So what's the controversy??

You should read the nfl.com and superbowl.com BBs'. Hardly downplayed. Outrage is more like it. These official sites like ESPN, CNNSI can't call 'um like they see them lest the league chastise them.

RE:" Fans here are convinced that the Rams defense would have held out in any case."...

The problem is that we will never know, the ref took that away.
I'm sure Washington fans thought they had the Bucs in the bag last week when they were up 13-0 and had stopped the Bucs all game...
then lost 14-13.

Adam, Re: "Fans here are convinced that the Rams defense would have
held out in any case."

The Dodgers were pretty sure Branca would get Thomson out.

The Yankees never thought Mazeroski would hit the homer.

The Red Sox thought Buckner could make a Little League play.

No way Laettner gets the ball, turns and scores in one second.

What's happenin' with Intel?
