I agree that many look at stock prices with a very near term objective instead of a buy and hold investment style. Much of this is due to the increased volatility caused by many of the day traders. However, with a stock like QCOM, even the most aggressive and positive investors have difficulty comprehending how much faster things move (growth) due to the rapid pace of technology and the consumers desire for the latest and greatest. This coupled with a much greater demand for a limited supply due to increased wealth along with more people being involved in the equities market and more foreigners being able to invest via the Internet. creates an upward surge unheard of in days gone by. This can create gains in 1 week that used to be a year. Right now QCOM is catching it's breath, but if we have an exciting report, particularly news, and growth prospects, don't count these seemingly bizarre price targets out of reach. I'm not sure when it will happen, but when it does, it is really going to move. I would not be surprised to see it move 150 to 200 points within a few weeks or so. I know from Greg Mulineaux's posts that he does not see this big news coming till the end of the year with the roll out of HDR. He may be correct, but I feel we will have a lot going on between now and then. Including a lot of other news. I am anxiously awaiting great earnings. But like diamond, think that these outrageous expectation of blow-out earnings do nothing to help the stock. I believe we will be much higher 1 month from now than we are now. But, time will tell.

Q will charge ahead!!
