Re "If They Only Knew..."

I've had a similar list to remind me how wrong we can be at any given time. Over time, we usually sort things out ;)

The Risk Takers and the Prudent are a good mix (not speaking of the foolish and the scaredy-cats!)

When my son was doing his own thing and had detractors he kept Edison's experience as his guideline, something to the effect that

I haven't found what I'm looking for, but I've found more than 10,000 things that won't work.

With that outlook, you learn to value your mistakes, learn a lot from them and are unafraid to make more of them ;)

The adopted philosophy has served him well.

BTW When I give my son the worrier's (prudent one's!) inevitable lines from time to time, I WARN him that I'm doing the "Mom Thing" and that I trust him to make good decisions. I appreciate his turning to me and listening even when we know there are basic differences. Everyone plays his/her part <vbg>. And I enjoy the leaps he takes that I never did!
