GUMM. Ron, I'm treating Gum Tech as an investment rather than a trade. My criteria for selling is based more on fundamental analysis than technical analysis and short term profit taking. Some people thought that 18 was the top. Some thought that 20 was the top. Some thought that 24 was the top. Some might think that 30 is the top. Gum Tech has met my end of year 1999 target of 25 to 30, but I think that the fundamentals support a higher stock price. If I had taken short term profits at every price when somebody thought a top was in, I'd be out of stock right now. I will sell some GUMM when one of the following occurs: 1. I believe that the fundamentals have taken a negative turn. 2. The stock breaks a longer-term support level. 3. The stock reaches one of my targets sooner than I think it should. Number 1 hasn't occurred because the fundamentals are solidly bullish. I estimate that Gum Tech will earn $2.08 per share in 2000 and they could earn $4.00 to $6.00 per share in 2001 if nicotine gum and Zicam do as well as I think they will. The stock has been on a nice steady rise with reasonable corrections and consolidations along the way, so number 2 doesn't apply. Big news that could really propel this stock in the short term, such as release of the clinical studies that verify the therapeutic and prophylactic benefits of Zicam haven't been released. I suspect that item 3 on my list might come into play on that day. I can't predict when a big seller will take profits, nor can I predict when a big buyer will send the stock up. If I was trading GUMM, I would be using completely different criteria for buying and selling it. I do trade small amounts of my position on occasion, but at the moment I'm in a hold mode awaiting news that I think will send the stock much higher. Some people thought that I was hyping GUMM a few months ago when it was trading 10 to 12 and I put out my 25 to 30 end of year target. My new intermediate term target is 50 to 60, and I think it could happen sooner than later because I believe that the clinical studies will be released soon, and I believe that they will conclude that Zicam reduces the duration and severity of the common cold AND prevents the common cold. I don't want to be out of any of my position on that day. Of course I'm taking some risk, but based on my extensive DD, I don't think that the risk is very high. My longer term target is $100 to $125. If this comes across as hype to anyone, I'm sorry, but it's not hype. BTW, I believe that one or more funds have started buying GUMM and I don't think that they are finished. Thanks for your concern and the hat tip lol. Dan
